Position Overview:

 

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing the execution of technology focused projects of significant complexity from conception through delivery, including successful project definition, planning, budgeting, time estimating and scheduling, project staff planning and resource leveling, organizing, and leading high performance project teams, and delivery of projects within assigned organization. This role manages all factors that govern project success to ensure high quality delivery within time, cost, and quality parameters. This role influences stakeholders and resource managers to follow standard project management practices and achieve project goals.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

 

  • Works with multi-functional teams to define, estimate, and document the overall scope of projects with significant complexity; may provide direction to other Project Managers.
  • Develops and presents business case, develops project plan and identifies resource needs, procures necessary resources, defines roles on project teams, leads team meetings, and assures healthy team dynamics.
  • Facilitates meetings and conducts needs analysis resulting in requirements definitions and functional specifications. Garners appropriate input from broad range of business and IT sources.
  • Develops robust project risk management plans to ensure timely delivery, testing and commissioning of all projects with no impact to business continuity.
  • Analyzes present state, develops alternative future state approaches and facilitates implementation.
  • Serves as primary contact to senior department managers for critical change initiatives within a highly matrixed environment.
  • With limited guidance, develops a sound implementation plan meeting the project strategy, within the budget and timing constraints.
  • Coordinates activities of project teams involved in all phases of the project.
  • Serves as a central point of communications for team members and project sponsors.
  • Proactively manages the project delivery and approvals with little supervision, resolves action items, issues, and risks.
  • Manages multiple projects at one time on a consistent basis across the company.
  • Identifies subtle issues that could result in major conflicts.
  • Facilitate training/onboarding plans for new hires and employees as needed
  • Mentor PM 1(s) as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

 

  • 15+ years project management experience or equivalent.
  • PMI/PMP certification or equivalent is very highly preferred.
  • Experience working with project and portfolio management Tools (Visio, MS Project, MS DevOps and so on.).
  • Experience managing projects focused on hardware infrastructure through application development and deployment.
  • Full project life cycle experience is mandatory with exposure to waterfall, agile and iterative delivery methods.
  • Proven track record of leading teams through the development life cycle.
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills.
  • PMI/PMP certification or equivalent is very highly preferred.
