Job Description

Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale global Oracle cloud computing environment. Primarily focused on development and support of network fabric and systems through a combination of a deep level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills to support the intensive automation required to operate a production environment. As OCI is a cloud-based network with a global footprint, this support will include hundreds of thousands of network devices supporting millions of servers, connected over a mix of dedicated backbone infrastructure and the Internet.

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • US Government active Top Secret/ SCI security clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related engineer field 5+ years Network Engineer experience or Masters with 2+ years Network Engineer experience
  • Experience and interest to work in a network operations role
  • Extensive experience with scripting or automation and datacenter design – Python preferred, but must demonstrate expertise in a scripting or compiled language
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent judgment in influence for product roadmap direction, features, and priorities
  • Required to participate in an on call rotation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting and engineering networks that rely on common industry relevant protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, ZTP, VPN, and SSL the below protocols:
  • Experience with network monitoring and telemetry solutions such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Extensive experience with scripting or automation and datacenter design – Python preferred, but must demonstrate expertise in a scripting or compiled language
  • Experience working with UNIX and Linux operating systems, to include scripting and automation of tasks.
  • Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment
  • Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems
  • Experience with network configuration management
