Sr. Java Developer

Position Description
CGI is looking for an experienced developer looking to grow their skills on a large agency account team. The project is a Service Oriented Architecture-based network that handles the exchange of data between government and its stakeholders (states, tribes, municipalities, private industry). The program builds, operates, and maintains this network and is responsible for building the data flows and applications that operate on and integrate on the network. In this role, you'll be contributing on a geographically dispersed cross-functional team utilizing Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework to develop on cadence and release on demand.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software. Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
• Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements. Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
• Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
• Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
• Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.
• Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration, and testing tools.
• Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
• Participates in code reviews, daily scrums, and other Agile development ceremonies.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• Proficiency in Java, Springboot, Knockout, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL. AngularJS strongly preferred.
• Experience developing and consuming REST web services preferred
• Consulting experience preferred
• Knowledge of the full software life cycle
• Knowledge and experience with Agile development methodology preferred
• 8+ years of experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience using Atlassian tools such as Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA, and Bamboo
• Experience working with remote team members
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline (not required).
• Will also accept candidates with a Masters degree in lieu of 1 year required experience.

Est. Salary/Hourly Range (Colorado Only): $59,000 - 120,000*

• Disclaimer: In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, effective January 1, 2021, a good faith hourly or base salary range must be posted for all positions where the work may be performed in the state of Colorado. Therefore, this good faith salary range will only apply where this described position will be performed in the state, and should not be considered the compensation range in other locations or for other positions.
