Responsibilities:
Lead/manage the technical design and development of complex business and/or technology solutions,
ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and meet quality targets.
  • Act as technical lead on large, complex projects involving on geographically distributed development
resources. Plan and direct activities of geographically distributed development teams and more junior
technical staff or project team members. Ensure that project technical designs adhere to corporate,
divisional, and/or business unit security, architecture and other applicable standards or policies.
  • Design solutions focusing on the reusability of components within the IT organization.
  • Code and test system components, as necessary.
  • Support technical assessment and estimation efforts for new, complex projects, new technology
adoption, etc.
  • Provide strategic technical solutions to business problems that also contribute to immediate business
goals. Consider long term implications of problem diagnosis/resolution efforts as well as technical design
decisions for business unit applications. Must be aware and well versed in recent technology and industry
trends and be able to assess their impacts and viability on the application inventory.
  • Evaluate Vendor solutions as applicable.
  • Provide expert technical and business consulting services across multiple applications within a business
unit.
  • Support efforts to develop or update departmental technology standards to align with corporate and/or
divisional architectural standards.
  • Work with business unit or divisional architecture resources to effectively introduce new technologies
into the business unit, accounting for training and support considerations.
  • Resolve ambiguous issues and solve diverse business/technical problems.
  • Assume the roles of expert advisor and mentor to more junior members of the business unit in a variety
of technical and/or business situations.
  • Assist other business units or IT groups, as needed, with technical or business issues or problems
Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of the company’s business operations, challenges and issues, with strong
understanding of their strategic direction and company’s various businesses.
  • Expert knowledge of structured analysis and design techniques; Ability to drive usage of these techniques
across the business unit. Expert knowledge in developing technical designs for complex business
applications.
  • Strong knowledge of IT industry trends; Ability to be a spokesperson for and drive the implementation of
new systems, techniques and toolsets within the business unit.
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills; Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; Ability to
influence decisions and get support from all levels of the organization.
  • Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to drive the implementation of complex business
solutions develop junior staff, delegate structured assignments and monitor the progress of others.
  • Excellent technical project management skills. Ability to lead multicultural teams and geographically
distributed development projects.
  • Solid knowledge of IT Security and Data Management Practices.
 

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred CS), Software Engineering or equivalent field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a client server, web and/or mainframe environment, with extensive project leading responsibilities.
